Editorial guidelines for Papers of the Conference

The Editorial Board of the 50e Congress of the ICMH will conduct a fair evaluation of the papers submitted.

The editors will first assess the papers for compliance with these editorial guidelines and then ask at least two national/international to review the papers’ conformity with these rules. If the reviewers suggest changes, additions or omissions, the author will be asked to correct the article. Once these changes have been approved by the reviewers, the articles will be accepted for publication in ACTA.

Timings

May 15, 2025 Last day for registration with the abstract of the paper
May 22, 2025 Announcement of the accepted papers (by e-mail to authors)
Jul 25, 2025 Last day to submit an abridged version of the paper to be read at the Congress
Jul 30, 2025 Last day to submit the full (provisional) version of the paper, which will be made available for downloading from the Congress website.
1-5 Sep 2025 The 50e ICMH CONGRESS (maximum 20 minutes for oral presentations)
Dec 15, 2025 Last day for submission of the final written version of the article (in accordance with the editorial guidelines provided) and ready for printing in ACTA.

Applications must be submitted in English or French and include a proposal for a paper of no more than 400 words and a half-page CV. The deadline for submission is May 15, 2025. 15 May 2025.

In accordance with the ‘Guide for the organisation of international congresses’ of the International Commission of Military History (ICMH) :

a. Timeframes have been established by the Host Committee.

b. Proposals for papers/presentations must be approved by the national commissions. Therefore, proposals submitted via the Congress website (https ://cshm.sec.gouv.sn/) must be approved by the author/presenter's National Commission.https://cshm.sn/) must be approved by the author/presenter's national commission.

Approval can be given by the president of the national commission (or his delegates) by means of an e-mail addressed to the academic assistant of the host commission.

c. The Host Committee has the power to accept, reject or request the modification of proposals for papers or articles, based on their consistency with the general theme of the Congress and their scientific quality. The Host Committee's decision is ratified by the ICMH Executive Board.
